Hello!

Rebecca Rolnick is from the forests, lakes, and hills around Syracuse NY, which she acknowledges are the ancestral unceded lands of Onondaga Nation. As a nature journal teacher and nature connection mentor, she is on a path of relearning how to live in reciprocal relationship with our “more-than-human” kin. Queer, neurodivergent, and chronically ill, she is passionate about creating nature connection experiences that help all people feel a sense of belonging and interconnection with the web of life, where each person can be celebrated for the gifts they have to share with their community.

Rebecca graduated from SUNY-ESF (2019) with a B.S. in Conservation Biology and a minor in Environmental Writing and Rhetoric. She is a National Geographic Certified Educator and a Field Notebook mentor for the American Birding Association’s Young Birder of the Year program. She is the creator of Nature Journaling for Ecological Re-STORY-ation and Nature Journal Writing Workshop Wednesdays. In 2021 she received an Honor Roll Award from the Izaak Walton League for her work leading the CNY Young Naturalists program.
